Welcome

My account on twitter is @SubhadipNandy16

If you want to learn how to trade, improve your trading, or follow me on twitter about the markets, you are in the right place.

Welcome . I'm Subhadip Nandy, a quantitative derivatives trader based out of Mumbai

Many of you struggle to become a consistently profitable trader. I am here to share my experiences of over 18 years of being a full time trader, heading a prop firm and being a quant analyst.

First things first. What is the difference between standard technical analysis and quantitative analysis ?

Technical Analysis(TA) is analyzing past price behavior , finding patterns and expecting the patterns to repeat in the future. TA assumes though individual participants change over the years, the 'crowd' as a whole will behave in the same way given certain circumstances in the future the same way it has done in the past. TA uses price patterns and mathematical indicators to understand these past behaviors.

Now what is quantitative analysis ?

A quant is often called a technical analyst in wolf's clothing :)

Jokes apart, Quantitative analysis (QA) is a technique that seeks to understand behavior by using mathematical and statistical modeling, measurement, and research.
Quantitative analysts aim to represent a given reality in terms of a numerical value.

So quantitative analysis is trading the reality of the markets.

There are very few trainers with real trading experience. After being in this field as a trader myself while heading a prop firm, I've developed my personal approaches to the markets. I use my own tools.

I have often traded LIVE in front of an audience using my methods. In 2019, I have LIVE traded 4 times in front of an audience, that too on an weekly expiry day :

Traders Carnival 2019 at New Delhi ( +5%)
Kotak Private Client Group at Mumbai ( +3%)
Private broker client at Kolkata (+4.5%)
Investor's Carnival at Goa(+1.5%)

I have been profitable all 4 times with a 100% success rate making anywhere between 1.5% to 5% on deployed capital on that single day. Traders trading on my views have all made money on those days.

I have also traded LIVE extensively with my students in dedicated FB groups or Telegram channels, both daytrading , expiry trading and positional trading

Because I really trade, at times pretty large volumes in a week, I understand what you are going through.

I had once blown up my whole capital when I was 30 due to insane leverage I took. I have learnt from that episode and now have and teach strict risk management practices.

Perhaps you want to learn how to trade or maybe you want to learn how to improve your trading.

I've been there myself. I can relate to you as a short term trader, a long term trader, a day trader,  a swing trader, etc. - I've traded them all.

I often hold seminars/workshops teaching fellow traders the methods I use. It's not just theory, I handhold with my actual trades for sometime so that students get enough exposure and confidence to trade on my methods in the markets.

On this website, you will find info about my trading courses . You will also find a blog which I hopefully aim to build with regular articles on issues related to trading.

Welcome once again, feel free to browse around . I am just an email /tweet away.
